Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team! Welch, Roberts, Amburn & Hutto, LLC is a local CPA firm that has been downtown Charleston for over 40 years. We are always adapting to new ideas whether through technology or ways to maximize time outside of work. Responsibilities:

Work closely with seniors, managers and partners to create a team approach to client relationships.
Relied upon to manage multiple clients at one time and resolve all open items on tasks assigned.
Prepare Federal, State or Local tax returns for individuals, businesses and non-profits.
Assist clients with internal monthly bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax returns while setting up and utilizing various cloud technologies.
Preparation of monthly or annual financial statements.
Promote and develop new firm ideas and participate in community involvement.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Master’s Degree not required but is a plus.
Candidate for CPA exam or already certified.
1-2 years of public accounting firm experience preferred but will also consider recent college graduates.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Service oriented.
Active listener.

Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! Welch, Roberts, Amburn & Hutto, LLC is a local CPA firm that has been downtown Charleston for over 40 years. We are always adapting to new ideas whether through technology or ways to maximize time outside of work. Responsibilities:

Oversee, delegate and review of tax returns and accounting tasks to staff.
Manage client relationships and take full responsibility of deadlines and client needs.
Prepare complex tax returns and financial statements.
Communicate with firm leadership on engagements in process and on new ideas.
Research tax and accounting issues to resolve technical questions and assist with client planning.
Provide constructive feedback to partners and assist with implementing new processes and technologies.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Master’s Degree not required but is a plus.
CPA license obtained or in process.
2-5 years of recent public accounting firm experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Service oriented.
Active listener.
